Artgym and AXA GO win big at the Brandon Hall Group Awards

Stephen Bates

AXA GO’s flagship leadership programmes, Be the Change and Lead the Change, have won a series of impressive accolades at this year’s Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards. This includes a Gold for Best Leadership Development Programme, a Gold for Best Learning Programme Supporting Change or Business Strategy and a Silver for Best Unique and Innovative Leadership Programme.

Be the Change and Lead the Change were designed and delivered through a collaborative partnership between the Artgym team, AXA GO’s Talent and Leadership Development team, and senior AXA GO programme sponsors. Now in their fourth consecutive year, they are going from strength to strength.

Across both programmes, leaders from 17 countries come together for a unique, cross-functional and transformational learning experience that is highly geared towards business outcomes and results. Learning is collaborative, immersive and aligned to the five pillars of AXA GO’s culture change strategy. Throughout the experience, participants are supported and encouraged to stretch well beyond their comfort zones. The overall goal of the programmes is to create a community of future leaders endowed with the mindset and behaviours needed to:

  • Role model and proactively contribute to new ways of working
  • Confidently initiate, lead and adapt to change
  • Effectively collaborate with stakeholders across all levels and functions

Be the Change and Lead the Change are shifting the dial on how AXA GO leaders lead, creating a sea change that directly aligns to and supports the goals of AXA GO’s culture transformation programme, as well as the wider business transformation of the AXA Group.

AXA GO now has a thriving (and still growing) alumni community of over 120 highly collaborative, innovation-driving leaders who are proactively leading change across the business. The community is driving AXA towards its goal of being a unified, empowered and customer-first organisation, as evidenced in both the post-programme qualitative research and the business Change Initiatives being delivered beyond the programmes. Jonathan Giraud, AXA GO’s Head of Corporate Functions Products, commented on the change:

“Be the Change and Lead the Change are playing an instrumental role in driving AXA GO towards its strategic change ambitions. This includes breaking down the silos between teams, developing growth-oriented perspectives, attracting and retaining talents, and opening minds to develop new and innovative ideas.”

The programmes are also making a significant impact on a personal and team level. Net Promoter Scores are between 53 and an amazing 100, whilst the average satisfaction score of sessions is between 4.7 and 4.8 out of 5. On top of this, post-programme qualitative research provides rich evidence of how they are developing participants:

“Be the Change has done something to me!! I am taking these opportunities face-on and am eager to continue to grow and learn. Honestly, such an amazing program!”

The Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards recognise businesses that have implemented HCM programmes with outstanding business results. A rigorous evaluation process is run by a panel of veteran, independent experts who judge entries based upon innovation in design, alignment to business need, and measurable demonstration of impact. Excellence Award winners will continue to be honoured at Brandon Hall Group’s HCM Excellence Conference, January 28-30, 2025, at the Hilton West Palm Beach, Florida.

Artgym Founder and Chief Psychologist, Dr Eugene Hughes, commented on the significance of the awards:

“The best reward for us is the difference we make to peoples’ work lives. But these awards are the cherry on the cake and a wonderful acknowledgment of a level of excellence that can only be achieved through collaboration, commitment and creativity. I’d like to extend a big thank you and congratulations to our cherished clients at AXA GO and all the other teams involved, including our own at Artgym.”
