2 Golds at The Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards

Stephen Bates

Artgym cemented its position as a leading global people and culture business last week by winning two Golds in the coveted Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards in Human Capital Management. Both awards were for programs we developed and delivered collaboratively with world-leading sports brand, adidas.

The Director Development Experience (DDE), picked up the first gold award. It won ‘Best Unique or Innovative Leadership Program’. Inspired by sport, this intensive, self-driven and peer-based learning experience enables adidas directors to execute strategy by cultivating a winning culture and leading inclusive, high-performance teams.

The second Gold was for the People Leader Essentials program (PLE). This won ‘Best Advance in Competencies and Skill Development.’ PLE is an entirely virtual, highly interactive global learning program that provides emerging leaders with on-demand learning around the foundational capabilities needed to lead at adidas.

Artgym Future of Work Director, Douglas Brown, commented on the award wins:

“We set out with big ambitions when we sat together with adidas to workshop what these programs could look like. Fast forward two years and the programs have developed thousands of leaders across adidas. We’re extremely excited and humbled to receive these Gold awards in recognition for the success of the partnership with adidas.

Winning the ‘Best Unique or Innovative Leadership Program’ category for the second year in a row speaks to the spirit of what we want to achieve at Artgym and I’d like to thank adidas wholeheartedly for trusting our team, and challenging us to deliver new and innovative work. They’ve been a true partner, every step of the way.

I’d also like to extend a huge thank you to our team of passionate researchers, learning experts, coaches, facilitators, creative directors, designers, videographers and program administrators around the world. They are constantly demonstrating how creativity and collaboration can achieve amazing things, even when in-person collaboration is not possible.”

“Winning the ‘Best Unique or Innovative Leadership Program’ category for the second year in a row speaks to the spirit of what we want to achieve at Artgym.”

These programs are the culmination of years of work. To date, over 3000 learners from 20 countries have been developed through them.

Artgym Founder and Chief Psychologists, Eugene Hughes, also commented:

“We are delighted to see the work we do with adidas recognised by these prestigious awards. Winning two golds is the cherry on top of already exceptional program results.

We’re extremely grateful to our clients at adidas. Their commitment to a truly collaborative relationship means that we’re able to design and deliver such innovative, high impact learning and leadership programs. Our mission is to transform mindsets and behaviours at work by harnessing the power of people thinking creatively and practicing consistently together. Creative and ambitious clients like adidas make this possible.”

Brandon Hall Group Chief Operating Officer Rachel Cooke, leader of the HCM Excellence Awards program, added further comment:

“Excellence Award winners distinguish themselves through their growing understanding that all the functions of HCM are integrated and must work together to move businesses forward.

It is a pleasure to see more organizations collaborating across functions and getting more sophisticated and accomplished at delivering measurable benefit through ground-breaking HCM practices. For example, it was inspiring to see how diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives are increasingly embedded into people and business strategies and cultures. We saw more alignment between HCM and business objectives than ever before.”

Entries were evaluated by a panel of independent senior industry experts, as well as Brandon Hall Group analysts and executives, based upon these criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation and overall measurable benefits.

Excellence Award winners are scheduled to be honored at Brandon Hall Group’s HCM Excellence Conference, January 31st to February 2nd 2023, at the Hilton West Palm Beach, Florida. Select winners also will serve as presenters in breakout sessions, sharing their leading practices during the conference.
