of a new way
of working.
We are an international team of leadership, learning, culture and communications experts who believe in the power of people creating together at work.

Using a multidisciplinary approach that straddles consulting, coaching and content production, our certified practitioners deliver experiences that transform how your people think, feel and behave together at work.
Our beliefs

1
Creativity is an innate ability
Creativity isn’t something restricted to certain types of people or professions. It’s an innate human ability that can be developed by any individual or team, just like any other skill.

2
Creativity is the future of work
Digital technology and automation are reducing the need for technical specialists and increasing the need for adaptable, creative problem solvers. Creativity has become the strongest predictor of high performance in business today.

3
Culture is the strategy
Commercial performance is driven by people and actively managing an organization’s culture is the most powerful way to unlock the potential of those people. It drives the achievement of all major business goals.

4
Innovation is collaborative
Working closely and iteratively with others enables us to generate more ideas, test them fast and feed off each other’s experience and strengths. Most of the world’s greatest innovations were developed by many people, not one.
Our global team
of practitioners.
Our teams deliver programs in 33 countries and 11 different languages. To enrich these programs with inspiring perspectives and expertise, we collaborate with a diverse range of partners—from actors and academics to innovators, sport professionals and international explorers.

Ben Payne
Expert Contributor

Ben believes everyone is creative and that we all have a story to tell. He thinks individuals and organisations flourish best and become more innovative when they have a better understanding of how to do both. His work is about giving people the confidence and capacity to do this better.
Ben’s background is in professional theatre as a writer, dramaturg, facilitator and producer. He also co-founded and co-directed the Ministry of Stories, a community-based writing centre for young people in east London. He was jointly responsible for developing its creative education programmes and the teams of volunteer mentors that supported the young people on them. He then mentored new leaders inspired by the Ministry model in how to start up and establish their own new organisations across the UK. His work focuses now on how increased creativity and better storytelling can lead to individuals and organisations having greater impact.
Ben’s core expertise is in writing, storytelling, the performing arts and in collaborative creative work, particularly with children and young people, but he also believes there is a lot that adults can learn from young people’s creativity. Ben’s ‘superpower’ is the development of individual and organisational stories as a way of creating change. He is a qualified professional coach and action learning set facilitator and a Fellow of the Clore Cultural Leadership Programme.
Adults are afraid to make mistakes, but there is no creativity without mistakes. We need safe spaces where getting it wrong first time is applauded as part of the process. From there, it’s about mentoring the innovator through the necessary reiteration and refinement to fully explore and complete an idea.
As an Expert Contributor on Artgym’s Advanced Diploma, he has already seen the course create more confident and collaborative people and is excited to see it do more!

Sarah Pimenta
Creative Facilitator

Sarah is a Creative Facilitator who specialises in designing and facilitating group art projects in both the public and private sector. During the past ten years, she has been instrumental in researching, designing and delivering many impactful projects with ArtGym which have increased creativity and innovation within companies and helped our clients put creativity to good work.
Sarah makes creativity approachable and understandable to everyone. She takes a person who says, “I’ll be rubbish at this, I can’t draw,” and makes them understand that creativity is not about being able to draw or create art but is instead an attitude of thinking and learning. In helping her clients to understand that they don’t need to be afraid of creativity, she allows them to think differently in order to create and innovate.
Sarah taps into her background in Textile Design to design and facilitate creative processes that help her clients to explore a theme or answer a question visually. She facilitates group art projects that produce visual content that tells an important, creative, innovative story. These art projects have taken place in diverse and disparate communities in the UK and most recently Africa. Sarah uses creativity to make a difference in people’s lives. After one of her recent projects with Syrian mothers, a client wrote the weekly workshops had transformed her life and made her feel that she had, at last, a place where she belonged.
Sarah is also a lecturer on Creativity in Events for Event Academy where shares her stories and experience and regularly bring a creative approach to new audiences.
After completing a degree in Textile Design, Sarah worked as a professional designer before realising a passion for teaching and gaining a Degree in Professional Education Studies. She has taken many art courses and has developed a strong creative practise of her own with collaboration at the heart. She has worked with and been inspired by contemporaries in a wide range of creative disciplines from poetry, rap, film to experimental contemporary dance. Her core competencies lie in her ability to draw upon this experience in service to group work and her ability to comfortably utilise a wide range of media and creative process to build a commitment to co create.
Sarah embraces new challenges and continues to work within communities where a creative approach can make a difference however small because she believes creativity is a seed that will grow.
