Chrissie Wanless

Managing Director

Chrissie is a Co-Founder of Artgym. She co-leads our business and team globally and works directly with many of our clients as a trusted strategic consultant, advanced group work facilitator and leadership coach. She also tutors on our Advanced Diploma. Her work enables creativity in teams and business by unlocking the self-belief, confidence and creativity of all the individuals and teams she works with.

An award winner, Chrissie has nearing 20 years experience in human centred organisation and people development. She is a learning expert who has worked with many organisations in the Technology, Telecoms, Travel, Retail, Consulting, and Media industries. She’s worked with some of the world’s leading organisations including Orange, ASOS, Westfield, Adidas, Cap Gemini, Spotify and Sony Music. Her work has seen her creating and delivering world class leadership and team development programmes, and leading large scale cultural transformation and business innovation initiatives. Her extensive experience means she has coached thousands of leaders worldwide helping them make a measurable difference for themselves and their families, their teams, and their organisations.

Chrissie specialises in personal and organisational behaviour change, business innovation and 21st century learning experience creation and delivery. She has a BSc in Sociology & Social Psychology, a Masters in HR Management, is a trained group work Facilitator and Coach (Gestalt, CTI & Organisation Relationship Systems Coaching), a practitioner in many psychometric assessments (including the Leadership Versatility Index and Hogan) and is an avid user of design thinking methodology in her practice.

Chrissie always puts the individual or organisations’ context, behaviours and the desired change at the heart of her work. She won’t do anything without understanding the ‘context’ and the ‘intention’. Her style is ‘warm’ yet ‘rigorous’. She is exceptional at empathising with others, building trusted relationships whilst also challenging those she works with to focus unwaveringly on what’s possible and on their desired outcomes. She will often be heard asking ‘why?’, ‘why not?’ and ‘what difference will it make?’

Really ‘seeing’, supporting and stretching people and organisations, to help them create amazing futures, is what Chrissie cares about most. She also adores interior design and architecture. She has renovated properties and plans to build her own house. She also loves sport and being outdoors. She watches and plays football, and squash, has run a couple of half marathons and is currently training to become a FIFA certified football coach.

"Chrissie is an inspirational person to work with. She developed a massively innovative Leadership program which my colleagues and I gained great benefit from. I learnt a great deal and really feel that I was able to progress as a leader as a direct result of Chrissie’s work"
